GARY, Ind. (AP) — Michael Jackson’s boyhood hometown of Gary, Indiana is ready to give the late singer another birthday bash. But organizers of the three-day Michael Jackson Tribute Festival of the Arts say it won’t just focus on the singer, who died in 2009.

They say the event will also be aimed at encouraging new artists.

The promoter says Jackson’s mother, Katherine, the singer’s children and other family members are expected to attend.

There will also be a ceremony tomorrow at Roosevelt High School — which the Jackson 5 name-checked in their 1970s hit, “Goin’ Back to Indiana.”
