Actor Mikael Persbrandt has been sentenced to five months in jail for buying cocaine.

The Swedish star, who played Beorn in “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” was charged alongside 10 others after his details were found in a drug dealer’s phone last year.

At the District Court of Stockholm on Tuesday, he was found guilty of buying 12 grams of cocaine and handed a five-month custodial sentence.

The 50-year-old had denied the allegations, with his lawyer arguing that someone else had used his phone at a party.

Persbrandt is waiting to hear if he has the right to appeal.
