A 33-year-old Spencer woman was charged with felony third-degree grand larceny after she was accused of stealing money from the Spencer Volunteer Fire Department.

State Police say Jennifer Grier, who had been the treasurer for the department since 2004, began taking money for personal use in the summer of 2011.

She was arrested April 24th.

Troopers say Grier stole over $3,000.

Additional bank records are being obtained and the investigation is continuing.

Grier is due back in Tioga County Court next week.
