Police have now charged an Ithaca man after he allegedly dragged a woman with his car following an argument.

29-year-old Akiel Patrick allegedly got into an argument with the woman early Saturday night in the 700 block of South Meadow Street in Ithaca.

Police found a woman lying on the ground of a parking lot when they got there, and the woman told them that Patrick wouldn’t let her leave.

Officers only say Patrick dragged the woman “a fair distance” before she broke away from the car.

She had to be taken to the hospital for treatment. Police haven’t said anything about her status.

Police caught up with Patrick later in the night in the town of Ithaca. He’s now behind bars in the county jail.
