Arrest made in Lansing assault investigation from 2004

An arrest has been made in connection with a sexual assault reported in Lansing nearly ten years ago.

Sheriff’s investigators say Charles Garcia of Groton was arrested this week and charged in connection with the attack off Farrell Road in Lansing in June of 2004.

Garcia is accused of sexually assaulting a teenager at knife-point, but none of the leads in the case resulted in an arrest following the incident.

Investigators say they recently worked with the State Police on a recent investigation , and found links to Garcia in connection with the 2004 case

He’s now in the Tompkins County Jail, with bail set at $100,000.
