Syracuse man sentenced for crash that injured three IPD officers

A Syracuse man will serve time in state prison after he stole a car in Ithaca, and eventually crashed it into a car with three Ithaca Police officers inside.

Police say David Manzi, 53, stole a car from the Hess Gas Station on Elmira Road back in April, and was spotted a short time later by police.

He eventually crashed the car at the corner of Green and Corn streets, and did so into an unmarked police car.

The officers inside sustained only minor injuries. Manzi will now spend one to four years behind bars.
