Rabid bobcat attacks man in Tioga County

A Tioga County man was attacked by a bobcat this week that was confirmed to be rabid.

The Tioga County Health Department says the man was attacked in the Town of Nichols.

The health department says if you are going to be outdoors that you be aware of your surroundings and on the lookout for animals that are acting unusual.

Supervise young children playing outdoors and inform older children to avoid and stay away from animals.

Ithaca to implement parking changes, boot program for unpaid tickets

The City of Ithaca announced Thursday that it will enhance its parking enforcement program through the use of two new LIcense Plate Readers, which have been installed in the Community Service Officer vehicles.

The city will also start charging a $1.50 an hour for on-street parking, an increase of fifty cents.
