Missing Norwich man found safe

State police have located a Norwich man who went missing on Christmas.

The search for 73-year-old Gary Powell ended Thursday afternoon.

WBNG-TV reports state police received a 911 call from someone who saw his PT cruiser along Interstate 81. He was taken to a state police barracks and released a short time later to his family.

Powell suffers from dementia.
