Long day of delays on Route 13 in Ithaca

Drivers on Route 13 through Ithaca were delayed a couple of times Saturday due to separate incidents.

Around 8:30 Saturday morning, work crews responded to a water main break reported in the 500 block of North Meadow Street. Traffic was reduced to one lane for much of the day, and a crew could be seen patching up the roadway around 4 p.m.

Later in the morning, Ithaca Fire crews had to respond to a truck fire north of that water main break near the intersection with Dey Street.

When firefighters arrived after 11:30 a.m., they found a truck on the side of the road that was on fire. The driver and a passenger were able to get a few things out of the truck and get out. They were not injured.
