Ithaca native connected to NC murder case

An Ithaca native and two brothers are being charged in connection to the discovery of human remains in Pitt County, North Carolina over the weekend.

WCTI-TV in North Carolina reports 29 year old Nakijah Latifa Howard, originally from Ithaca, faces a first degree murder charge along with brothers Harold and Lester Drake.

Pitt County Sheriff’s Deputies believe robbery was the motive in the murder of the victim, whose body was found over the weekend on a farm.

The man has not been identified, but deputies believe he is from New York.
