Head of Ithaca Airport’s control tower wins “Manager of the Year” award

The manager of the Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport’s Air Traffic Control Tower was presented with the “Manager of the Year” award Tuesday.

Doug Lewis has been the tower manager since 2007, and says he is humbled by the distinction.

Lewis was presented the award by Randy Walls, manager of Air Traffic Services for the Eastern Terminal Service Area for Midwest ATC Service, which is a company managing over 80 contract towers in the U.S. and overseas.

Ithaca to implement parking changes, boot program for unpaid tickets

The City of Ithaca announced Thursday that it will enhance its parking enforcement program through the use of two new LIcense Plate Readers, which have been installed in the Community Service Officer vehicles.

The city will also start charging a $1.50 an hour for on-street parking, an increase of fifty cents.
