Grapes everywhere! Truck rolls over, spills load

Imagine driving along the highway, looking to the side, and seeing thousands of grapes laying on the side of the road.

That’s what drivers in Tioga County saw this morning on Route 17 at the Apalachin exit.

A truck carrying grapes rolled over just after 7 a.m.

The driver of the truck wasn’t injured. The load of grapes, which was coming from the Finger Lakes, spilled onto the grass and onto a portion of the shoulder.

The highway off-ramp was closed until just after 10 a.m.
