Elderly woman struck by vehicle on Ithaca’s West End

An elderly woman was flown to Robert Packer Hospital Friday after being struck by a vehicle.

The accident happened at approximately 12:15 p.m. on West Buffalo Street in the city of Ithaca near the split with Route 89 and Route 96.

The Ithaca Fire Department and Bangs Ambulance responded to the scene Friday. Ithaca Fire Lt. Tom Basher says the woman was semi-conscious before she was airlifted.

There is no word yet on her condition.
