Crews make quick work of fire on Cornell campus

Ithaca Fire crews put out a small fire inside a building at Cornell Thursday.

A call came in around 9:30 a.m. for smoke and a fire inside Goldwin Smith Hall on East Avenue on the Cornell campus.

Crews found the fire in an elevator machine room, and put it out quickly.

No one was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The building was re-opened by 10:30 Thursday morning.
