Cortland man dies in Cayuga County car crash

A 21-year-old Cortland man was killed Thursday morning on State Route 90 in Cayuga County.

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office says Tyrone Williams was traveling north on Champlin Road in the Town of Summer Hill when he failed to stop at a stop sign intersecting with Route 90.

He was hit by a car traveling east and was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver of the other car was not injured and has not been charged.

Williams was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Heavy fog was reported in the area at the time of the crash and the investigation continues.
