Driver identified in Trumansburg Road car crash

One person was flown to Upstate Medical Center and a house sustained significant damage after a car crashed into a home on Trumansburg Road this morning.

Rescue crews were notified just before 9am that a car left the roadway and slammed into a home in the 1300 block of Trumansburg Road.

Sheriff’s Deputies identified the driver as 24 year old Hoyt Benjamin of Ithaca.  Charges are pending upon further investigation.

Rescuers had to extricate Benjamin from the car and stabilize the house with portable struts due to structural damage from the accident.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the accident.
