Assemblywoman Lifton introduces Homebuyer Tax Credit Bill

Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton introduced a bill Friday to create Homebuyers’ Tax Credit for the purchase of a new or renovated energy efficient home.

Under the program, a homebuyer will receive a $5,000 refundable personal tax credit for the purchase of certified energy efficient homes.

Lifton hailed the bill as an all-around win for communities, the economy and the environment.

Lifton said the bill will pay for itself as revenues to both state and local government increase with economic activity.
