    The 11th Annual Tour de Keuka

    The 11th Annual Tour de Keuka will be held on July 11th with all proceeds benefitting the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. Riders choose from a century (100 miles), early (55 miles), ride around Keuka Lake (45 miles), or a family ride (12 miles) and pay a modest registration fee of $10 and raise $100 to ride. Registration is now open! Cyclists who raise more than $250 will receive a commemorative Tour de Keuka bike jersey and all participants will receive an event bag and water bottle. This event targets the complete range of cycling skills from a first rider and children new to the sport, to experienced endurance athletes.


    The 7th Annual Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway of Valor “Tribute Ride”

    In July 2009 Gov. Patterson signed into law for the first time and the only time in New York State, a state highway dedicated to the men and women who served in the Vietnam War. New York State Route 38 is now designated as, “The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway of Valor”.

    The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapters 377, 480, 704, and Chapter 17 of The Blue Knights, will be holding “The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway of Valor ‘Tribute Ride'”.

    The ride will begin at Owego Free Academy on Sheldon Guile Blvd. in Owego, NY. It will then go to the American Legion in Hannibal, NY. Making one stop at the American Legion in Groton, NY.

    All vehicles, land and air, are welcome. Registration will be 8:00a-9:00a the day of the ride.

    Singer-songwriter Doc Possum has a special acoustic show just for us, including old favorites like Paperweight Pals and new songs about glass! Doc Possum performs at family events throughout the region and has been performing at the Museum since 2004.

    Doc writes about the story of glass and often incorporates objects from the Museum’s collection into his song lyrics. His song, Look Inside, based on the Museum’s toddler book, Paperweight Pals, was a big hit at last year’s Little Gather and is great for both kids and parents to get up and dance around to!
