In recognition of National POW/MIA Day, the Finger Lakes Chapter #377 Vietnam Veterans of America will be holding their 24th Annual Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Watch Fire at 7 PM on Friday, September 19th at Meyers Point Park in the town of Lansing.
1,645 American servicemembers are still reported as Missing in Action from the Vietnam War and thousands more from other wars during the 20th Century. This event is open to the public; there will also be a chicken barbecue to benefit Vietnam Veterans. Bring your old worn and tattered American flags to the fire for proper disposal, and if you have wood you want to add to the fire, bring it along with you.
